Police are investigating the armed robbery of a general store in Sydney’s west overnight.
About 8.20pm (Friday 24 May 2013), a man who had his face concealed entered the shop on Lock Street Blacktown, armed with a sword.
He approached the counter and demanded money from the male staff member.
The man grabbed an amount of cash and cigarettes before fleeing on foot.
The staff member was not injured during the incident.
Police from Blacktown Local Area Command were notified and have commenced an investigation into the robbery.
They would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with a solid build, and was wearing a dark coloured jumper and dark pants at the time of the incident.
