Police from the Sutherland Local Area Command are searching for a male responsible for the armed robbery of a pharmacy in Sydney’s south.
About 6.10pm yesterday (Wednesday 3 July 2013), the male walked into the pharmacy – on Old Bush Road, Yarrawarrah – brandishing a hammer.
Waving the hammer back and forth in a threatening fashion, the male demanded the two female employees working inside the pharmacy hand him cash.
The women duly obliged, directing him to a cash drawer within the premises. The male removed an amount of money, before running from the scene.
Police were called to the business and, after speaking to the women, officers conducted a search of nearby streets. However, they were unable to find the male responsible for the armed robbery.
Detectives are investigating the incident and would like to hear from anyone who may know or may have seen the male. He is described as being between 180-185cm tall and of slim build. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a white hooded-jumper, baggy jeans and a purple/pink bandana over his face.
