Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery at a store in New Berrima.

About 7.45pm yesterday (Wednesday 3 July 2013), two men entered a store on Argyle Street and threatened a 55-year-old female owner with an axe.

They forced her to open the cash register and safe, before tying her hands behind her back and fleeing with an amount of cash and cigarettes.

The woman sought assistance from a neighbour. She was not hurt during the incident.

The men are described as wearing dark hooded jackets, tracksuit pants and gloves. They had their faces concealed throughout the incident. They may have left the scene in a white Toyota Hilux.

Police from Goulburn Local Area Command and Goulburn Crime Scene attended the location, and have commenced an investigation.

They would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or the circumstances surrounding it.
