Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a shop in Gerringong.

About 5pm (Saturday 20 July 2013), the owner was closing the shop when a man allegedly approached her, armed with a knife.

He ordered the owner back into the store, before demanding cash.

The man later fled the location in a white vehicle with an amount of cash. He was last seen driving south on Fern Street.

No-one was injured during the incident.

Police attached to Lake Illawarra Local Area Command were contacted and launched an investigation.

 

The man is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, in his early twenties. He was last seen wearing a black hooded jumper and black pants, with a black scarf around his neck.
