Police are appealing for information after a grocery store in Sydney’s south west was held up at gunpoint.
Just after 6pm yesterday (Wednesday 31 July 2013), two men who had their faces concealed, entered the shop on Canley Vale Road, Canley Heights, armed with a handgun.
The men allegedly threatened a man and woman working in the shop, before punching the man in the face.
They took an amount of cash from the till and ran off towards Salisbury Street.
The injured man did not seek medical assistance.
Police from Cabramatta Local Area Command were notified and arrived a short time later, securing a crime scene that was examined by forensic specialists.
Officers arrested a 17-year-old boy nearby and took him to Cabramatta Police Station, where he was released pending further inquiries.
Meanwhile, investigators would like to speak to two men who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The first man is described as having a medium build, and was wearing a grey hooded ‘G-Star’ brand jumper, black track pants and black shoes. He was also carrying a light blue coloured sports bag.
The second man is being 175cm tall, with a chubby build, and was wearing a black hooded jumper, black track pants and black shoes.
