Police are appealing for information after a robbery at a pharmacy in Smithfield this afternoon (Tuesday 20 August 2013).

About 4.30pm, a man entered the Hassall Street shop and threatened staff with a knife.

He demanded money and medication from the employees.

He then left the store and was last seen walking north on Hassall Street.

Police attached to Fairfield Local Area Command are investigating the incident and would like to speak to a man who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He was described to police as being of Caucasian appearance and of a thin build. He is also described as having green eyes and as having a wound underneath one of his eyes. At the time the man was wearing a white tracksuit and a blue bandana was covering some of his face.
