Police are searching for a man following an attempted armed robbery of a restaurant on Anzac Avenue at Kallangur.
About 7.20pm, employees noticed a man at the cash register. When the employees went to the man he produced a knife.
The man then fled the store empty handed. There were no injuries.
He is described as about 25-years-old, 180 centimetres tall and was wearing a cream coloured hooded jumper.
