Police are investigating an armed robbery of a tavern in Woolgoolga last night.

About 10.40pm, Sunday 1 September 2013, a 22-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were leaving their work at a tavern on River Street, when a person wearing a balaclava and carrying a long barrelled shotgun ran towards them.

The offender forced their way inside.  The alarm system in the premises sounded and they ran from the scene with an amount of cash.

The person wearing the balaclava is described as being around 183cm tall and wearing black clothes.

Police and detectives from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command attended the scene and searched the area.
