A woman has been charged after an armed robbery on a taxi driver at Loganlea this morning.

Around 12.40am, a taxi picked up a woman from a railway station at Loganlea.

When the taxi arrived at its destination in Haig Road, it is alleged the woman has attempted to steal the driver’s mobile phone.

A struggle ensued and the woman allegedly produced a small knife.

The driver disarmed the woman, but was punched to the face causing a laceration and swelling to his eye.

The Logan Tactical Crime Squad was on a proactive patrol in the area and apprehended the woman.

A 28-year-old Holmview woman has been charged with armed robbery with violence.

She is expected to face the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
