Police are investigating the armed robbery of a social club at Yagoona, in Sydney’s south west, overnight.
About 10pm (Sunday 29 September 2013), three men entered the club on Rookwood Road with their faces concealed.
One of the men approached two employees – a 52-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman – and ordered them to lie on the floor.
While the man, who was armed with a large knife, stayed with the employees the other two offenders stole a large sum of cash from the offices. All three fled and police were alerted.
The employees were not injured.
A number of patrons who were inside an adjoining function room were not involved in the incident.
Detectives from Bankstown Local Area Command established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation.
They’re appealing for public assistance as they attempt to identify and locate the men involved.
The armed man is described as having an olive complexion, stocky build, aged in his early 20s and about 165cm tall.
