3 October 2013 – Update – Arrest – Armed Robberies – Convenience Stores – Melb CBD

An eagle-eyed Safe City camera operator assisted police in arresting a man wanted for two robberies in the city early this morning.
The camera operator spotted the man walking west along Latrobe Street towards Elizabeth Street around 3am.
The operator recognised the man as a person police wanted to speak to about two robberies committed on CBD convenience stores over the past four days.
The operator directed police to the man’s whereabouts and after a short foot chase the 21-year-old Coburg man was arrested.
The man is currently being interviewed by Melbourne West Crime Investigation Unit detectives.
