Police are investigating an armed robbery at a supermarket at Fairfield West overnight.
About 7.35pm, (Tuesday 8 October, 2013), a man walked into the Hamilton Road supermarket and approached the front service counter.
The man asked the 18-year-old male employee for some cigarettes. When the man returned he lifted his jumper to reveal a knife tucked into his pants. He then demanded money and a small amount of cash was handed over.
The man left the complex and police were contacted and attended.
No one was injured during the robbery.
The man is described as being of a thin build. He was wearing a dark coloured hooded jacket, dark pants with a stripe down the side, a white baseball cap and sunglasses.
