Police are investigating the armed robbery of a jewellery store in Maryborough that occurred yesterday afternoon.

Around 4.30pm, a man and a woman entered the Adelaide Street store and approached the male store employee.

The man was armed with a knife and made demands for money. The store employee has complied and handed over a sum of cash from the register.

The man and woman have then tied the hands of the store employee behind his back and taken a sum of jewellery before fleeing the store on foot.

No one was physically hurt during the incident.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, in his mid to late 30s, with dark balding hair.

The woman is described as Caucasian in appearance, in her mid to late 30s with long dark brown hair.

Police would like to speak with the man and woman pictured, as they may be able to assist with inquiries.

Investigations are continuing.
