A 25-year-old woman has been charged following the armed robbery of a convenience store at Leichhardt this afternoon.
It will be alleged just after 4pm a woman entered the store on Toongarra Road before threatening a shop assistant with a syringe and demanding she open the till.
The staff member refused her demands and the woman allegedly stole a quantity of cigarettes before leaving the store.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
A 25-year-old Cairns woman was charged with one count of armed robbery and is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court tomorrow.
