A man and a woman have been charged over an alleged attempted armed robbery in Liverpool yesterday.

About 12.30am (Sunday 8 December 2013), a 30-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman entered a service station on Hoxton Park Road, allegedly armed with a knife.

They allegedly demanded cash before fleeing the scene empty handed.

Police attended; however were unable to locate the pair.

Around 5.30am, police were called to reports of two people attempting to break into a vehicle on Rosehill Close, Casula.

Police attended a short time later, stopped the man and woman and searched them.

Police found and seized items allegedly stolen from the vehicle, as well as a balaclava and a knife.

The pair was arrested at the scene and taken to Liverpool Police Station, where they were charged with attempted robbery and steal from motor vehicle.

They were refused bail, to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Monday 9 December 2013).
