Police from Cabramatta Local Area Command are investigating an attempted robbery and an actual armed robbery at two service stations’ in Lansvale overnight.
About 1am (Tuesday 10 December, 2013), a group of men attempted to enter a service station on the Hume Highway, one armed with a firearm and another with a baseball bat.
The attendant refused to open the door and the group left without gaining access.
About ten minutes later, and about 400 meters down the road, a group of men entered a second service station, one armed with a firearm.
They entered the shop and threatened the male attendant, grabbing an amount of cash from the till and cigarettes, before running from the premises.
The attendant was not hurt during the robbery which is now being investigated by Cabramatta detectives.
At the time of both robberies, the group of men were said to be dressed in black clothing and had their faces covered.
Detectives will investigate the suspected link between the two robberies.
