Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a bank which occurred yesterday afternoon.
About 2pm, a man entered the premises on Racecourse Road with what appeared to be a firearm.
An employee managed to activate the alarm system and the man left empty-handed.
He was last seen walking south
along Racecourse Road.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police believe the attempt may be linked to the armed robbery of a hotel in Hamilton in December, 2013.
Police believe that man pictured may be able to assist with inquiries into the incident.
