Detectives have charged a 25-year-old Logan man with a total of 19 offences including armed robbery, stealing and arson, following investigations into the alleged break-in of a hotel in Beenleigh early this morning.
Police will alleged that around 1.50am a man was disturbed in the rear office area of a Geroge Street hotel by security staff.
The man fled the scene on foot and following a foot pursuit, which including tracking by a police dog, was located hiding in a nearby drain.
The man was transported to Logan Hospital for treatment to a hand and leg injury he sustained prior to being arrested by police.
The man is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow where he also faces charges of burglary, enter premises and commit an indictable offence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, trespass, obstruct police, attempt to escape lawful custody, wilful damage, fail to dispose of a syringe and fail to stop a motor vehicle.
The charges relate to various offences alleged to have been committed in the local area in recent days, including the armed robbery of a convenience store on Pannikin Street, Springwood at 6.50am on January 23, whilst armed with a firearm.
