Police are investigating after a convenience store in North Ipswich was robbed earlier today.

Initial investigations indicate that around 2.55pm a man entered the store on Holmes Street, where he approached the female attendant armed with a knife and made demands for cash.

She complied and the man left the store with a sum of cash, heading across Holmes Street in the direction of Waterworks Road.

The man is being described as having a tanned complexion and in his early 20s. He may be around 170cm tall, with a medium to heavy build.

At the time he was wearing dark pants and a dark hooded jumper, however it is believed that he was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and white checked shorts in the Currey Street, Brassall area.

Nobody received any physical injuries.

Investigations are continuing.
