Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery in Richmond this afternoon.

Just after 3.30pm (Friday 7 February 2014), police responded to reports of an armed hold-up at a financial institution on Percival Street.

Police have been told a woman armed with a gun entered the building and threatened a female staff member, demanding money.

A short time later, the woman fled the scene with cash.

Officers attached to the Hawkesbury Local Area Command were called and established a crime scene.

They would like to speak to a woman who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, approximately 20-years-old, and was seen wearing a black jumper, black cargo pants, black boots, a black balaclava and a black backpack
