Police have charged three people following the attempted armed robbery of a tobacco store at Kuraby last night.
Police will allege about 11pm, two men armed with knives approached staff as they locked up the store.
It will be further alleged, the staff members were ordered to re-enter the store when the store owner rushed out and tackled one person to the ground and short scuffle ensued.
The pair left by car and were last seen travelling along Beenleigh Road towards Mains Road, Sunnybank Hills.
At approximately 11.10pm an officer was performing duties on Kessels Road, Upper Mount Gravatt when he observed the vehicle, intercepted and took three people into custody.
An 18-year-old Springwood man, a 21-year-old Hemmant woman and a 19-year-old Mount Gravatt man were each charged with one count of attempted armed robbery and will face the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
