Police have charged a man following investigations into an armed robbery that occurred in Brisbane City last night.

It will be alleged around 5.20pm, a man armed with a knife walked into a convenience store on George Street, approached the counter, and made demands for money.

Police will further alleged the man ordered the employee to lie on the floor before leaving the premises with a sum of cash.

A 20-year-old Kuraby man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, deprivation of liberty, and stealing by servant.

He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.
