Police have charged a boy following an armed robbery that occurred at Logan Central overnight.

Shortly before 11.50pm, a boy entered a convenience store on Wembley Road and police will allege he implied he had a weapon and demanded cigarettes and cash.

The attendant handed over a sum of cash and a quantity of cigarettes and the boy then fled the scene and was located by police a short time later.

A 14-year-old Marsden boy has been charged with one count each of burglary, armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act.
