Police are investigating a robbery at Smithfield overnight. Just after 5am, a man and a woman entered the On The Run service station on Main North Road and threatened the console operator. The man was allegedly armed with a large kitchen knife. Both suspects left on foot with an amount of cash. The man is described as being aged in his 30’s, about 180cm tall with short dark hair. He was wearing dark shorts, a black top and a dark cap. The woman is described as being aged in her 30’s, about 170cm tall, slim build with long brown hair. She was wearing dark clothing.
