Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a milk bar yesterday evening.
Police have been told a man entered the store, on Goldsworthy Road, armed with a firearm about 7.45pm.
He threatened the attendant and demanded money before jumping the counter helping himself to cigarettes.
Local police, dog squad and the Airwing patrolled the area searching for the man who was last seen running north across Goldsworthy Road.
It is believed the man was seen with a woman around the time of the hold up.
