Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery in Shellharbour yesterday.

About 8.30pm (Monday 21 April 2014), a man armed with a hammer entered a grocery store on Wattle Road, Flinders and demanded cash.

He fled on foot a short time later towards Tabourie Close, taking cash and cigarettes.

Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

As they continue their investigations, they would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being about 30 – 40 years old and 180cm tall.

He was seen wearing a brown hooded long sleeve jumper with a grey symbol across the chest and down the arms, blue track pants with grey stripes, white running shoes, a baseball cap underneath the hood of the jumper, black and fluoro orange gloves, and a black backpack.
