Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted armed robbery at a convenience store in Hurstville Grove last night.
About 7pm (Saturday 26 April 2014), the owners, a 40-year-old woman and 41-year-old man, were working in their shop on the Seymour Street when a man entered the store.
He threatened both of them with a knife demanding money, when he was unsuccessful he ran from the store.
Police were contacted and officers from St George Local Area Command attended commenced an investigation and established a crime scene.
The area was examined by specialist forensic officers.
Detectives investigating the attempt robbery would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or any suspicious behaviour around the time.
The man was described to police as wearing a two-toned blue hooded jumper, a black baseball cap on backwards, dark jeans and white sports shoes.
