A teenager has been charged with the armed robbery of a jewellery store in Lakemba last month.
About 11am, Wednesday 16 April 2014, a 15-year-old girl was buzzed into a locked jewellery store on Haldon Street.
She allegedly held the door open, allowing an armed male to enter.
Two armed males then allegedly stole a display rack of jewellery and ran from the store.
The 15-year-old female remained inside the store and police were called.
A crime scene was established. The teen was taken to Campsie Police Station and released pending further inquiries.
That day (16 April 2014), a man was arrested and charged with armed robbery. He was refused bail and appeared in Burwood Local Court on 17 April 2014. He is due to reappear on 16 June 2014.
Following inquiries, about 11am yesterday (Thursday 1 May 2014) a 15-year-old was charged with armed robbery and granted conditional bail to appear in a children’s court on Wednesday 28 May 2014.
