Police are appealing for witnesses after an armed robbery at a pub in Petersham late last night.

About 10.15pm (Tuesday 27 May 2014), two male staff members were behind the bar of a pub on Parramatta Road, when two men entered with their faces covered.

One of the men threatening two male patrons with an axe, demanding they lay on the ground, they complied.

The other man threatened the staff members with a knife, demanding money from the till, they complied and handed over a sum of cash.

The two men then ran from the location, entered a maroon Ford Falcon that was last seen on Margaret Street.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

Police were called and officers from Marrickville Local Area Command attended.

A crime scene was established and an investigation was commenced.

Investigators would like to speak to two men who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
