Police are appealing for witnesses after an armed robbery at Edensor Park overnight.

About 10.45pm (Friday 20 June 2014), a man armed with a knife entered a service station on the corner of Cowpasture Road and Elizabeth Drive.

He approached the console operator, an 18-year-old man, and demanded cash and cigarettes.

The console operator complied, and the man ran from the premises.

Police from Fairfield Local Area Command attended a short time later, establishing a crime scene and conducting a search of the area.

They have launched an investigation into the incident, and would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described only as being about 183cm tall, and with an average build. Police have been told the man spoke with an accent, and at the time of the incident was wearing long black pants, a black hooded jumper, a white mask and black gloves.
