Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a service station on Warrigal Road in Cheltenham on Saturday night.
Detectives from Kingston Criminal Investigation Unit have been told a man wearing a balaclava and black gloves approached the entrance door of the service station around 9.45pm.
The offender, who was armed with a brick, tried to enter before a staff member locked the door.
The offender then pushed, kicked and finally threw the brick through the glass doors, hitting the staff member standing on the other side of the glass.
The offender failed to gain entry and ran off along Bernard Street.
The male staff member was treated for minor injuries.
The offender was wearing dark coloured track pants with two white stripes down the side, a white hooded jumper and white runners with a black strip up the sides.
He is described as around 170cm tall with a medium build.
Police have released CCTV of the man that they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
