Police from Burwood Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding an armed robbery in Burwood overnight.
About 12.25am today (Tuesday 5 August, 2014) a man, described as Caucasian in appearance, about 170cm tall with a thin build and wearing a black hooded jacket with grey track pants, with a black cap, and a black ‘skull pattern’ balaclava, entered a convenience store on Burwood Road armed with a knife.
He demanded cash and cigarettes from the employee before running from the premises.
No one was injured during the robbery, and there were no customers in the store at the time.
A crime scene was established while police conduct further inquiries.
