Police from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the robbery of a convenience store in Kanahooka last night.

About 9.35pm (Monday 11 August, 2014) three men entered the Lakeside Drive store, one armed with a knife.

The three men went behind the counter and threatened the 23-year-old male employee, demanding cash and cigarettes.

The men stole an amount of cash and cigarettes before running from the store.

Police were called and a crime scene was established. The men were described only as being aged in their late teens or early twenties, they has light olive skin and wearing dark hooded jumpers.

The employee was not injured.
