Police are investigating an armed robbery at grocery shopin Marcoola early this morning.

Around 6.20am a man has entered the shop on David Low Way, produced a knife and made demands to a staff member for cash and cigarettes.

The staff member has handed the man cigarettes and the man then left the store.

The man (pictured) is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 180cm tall, with a proportionate build and aged in his late twenties.

He was last seen wearing dark long pants, a dark hooded zippered jacket, dark gloves, a black baseball type cap and dark sunglasses.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area or who have any information in relation to the matter to contact police at Maroochydore CIB on 54752429 or Policelink on 131444.
