Police are investigating after an armed robbery at a shop in Padstow this afternoon.

About 3.40pm (Thursday 13 November 2014), a 72-year-old man was working at the counter of a shop on Faraday Road, Padstow, when another man entered and approached the counter.

The man threatened the attendant with a knife demanding cash.

He then walked around the counter and took cash from register, before running onto Shoults Lane.

Police were contacted and Bankstown Local Area Command attended commencing an investigation.

Specialist forensic officers attended and examined the scene.

The attendant was not injured during the robbery.

Investigators would like to speak to a man described as Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander in appearance, about 20-years-old, slim build, 180cm tall, and at the time was wearing dark long sleeved hooded jacket with a white symbol on the chest, dark knee length shorts, white socks and dark shoes.
