Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives have charged three men with the robbery of an Enfield hotel after they were arrested by officers from the Tactical Operations Unit.
Shortly after 11pm yesterday (Monday 15 December 2014) two men entered a hotel on Coronation Parade and allegedly threatened staff members with firearms.
They escaped with a sum of cash in a vehicle that was waiting nearby. No one was injured during the robbery.
That car was later stopped by the Tactical Operations Unit at Duke Street, Campsie. The only occupant, a 23-year-old man, was placed under arrest.
Police then surrounded a home in Duke Street, Campsie, with a 21-year-old man arrested. A second man, aged 46, was also arrested after barricading himself in the home for about an hour.
Search warrants were conducted on the home at Campsie and a unit at Punchbowl with police seizing cash and two firearms. The car, which had been reported stolen, was also seized by police.
The three men were taken to Burwood Police Station where Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives charged with them robbery whilst armed with a dangerous weapon. They were refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today.
