Detectives are investigating following an armed robbery at a Laverton North fast food restaurant last week.

Police have been told that a man approached staff members at the counter of the Fitzgerald Road restaurant about 7.45am on 8 February.

It’s then believed the man made demands for cash while holding a paper cup which he claimed contained a detonator for an explosive device.

After receiving a quantity of cash, the man fled the store on foot.

Police attended a short time later and did not locate any explosive devices at the restaurant.

Investigators have reviewed CCTV in the area and have released footage of a person they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
