A man has been charged following the armed robbery of a retail store at a shopping centre in Urangan yesterday.

It will be alleged around 11.45am, a man walked into the Boat Harbour Drive store while armed with a knife and demanded an employee hand over money from the cash register.

It will be further alleged the man then left the store with a sum of cash.

A 22-year-old Urraween man has been charged with armed robbery and is scheduled to appear before the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court today.
