A 25-year-old man has been charged with armed robbery following an incident at a convenience store in Cairns this morning.
It will be alleged around 2.10am a man attempted to leave the Shields Street store without paying for a number of food items when the shop attendant locked the door.
The man allegedly produced a pair of scissors and threatened the attendant before stealing more items and leaving the store.
A 25-year-old Parramatta Park man was charged with one count of armed robbery and is expected to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.
