A man has been charged over an alleged armed robbery in Campbelltown earlier this year.

About 5.10pm on Saturday 28 February 2015, a man allegedly entered a store on Chamberlain Street armed with a knife and threatened the female attendant while demanding cash.

Police have been told when the attendant struggled to open the cash register; the man allegedly lunged at her several times.

He was last seen running south along Lindesay Street, with cash.

Police from Campbelltown Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

A crime scene was also established at the store and examined by specialist forensic officers.

Detectives continued their inquiries into the incident, including reviewing CCTV footage from the store and launching a public appeal for information.

Shortly before 3pm yesterday (Friday 24 April 2015), a 24-year-old man attended Campbelltown Police Station, where he was arrested and charged with robbery while armed with an offensive weapon.

He was granted conditional bail and will appear before Campbelltown Local Court on Monday 18 May 2015.
