Just after 11pm, two men armed with a machete and a meat cleaver entered the Sussex Hotel on Walkerville Terrace and demanded money. One of the staff members pressed the hotel’s duress alarm, and the men fled empty-handed.

No one was injured during the incident.

The pair drove away from the scene in a stolen white BMW sedan, which was later found burnt out in Eton Lane, College Park.

The first suspect is described as having a large build, fair complexion, and was wearing a balaclava covering most of his face, a grey-striped jumper, beige pants and white sneakers.

The second suspect is described as having a slim-medium build, and was wearing a red ‘Spider-Man’ mask, a black hooded jumper and blue Adidas cap, blue Adidas pants and dark-coloured sneakers.
