Detectives are investigating following the armed robbery of a service station at the intersection of Oxley Road and Sherwood Road at Sherwood early hours this morning.
Initial investigations indicate around 1.40am a man entered the business and presented a large knife, before demanding money and cigarettes.
A staff member complied with the man who then left the business on foot and was last seen running onto Primrose Street from the direction of Sherwood Road.
The man is described as approximately 175cm-185cm tall, of slim build with a tan complexion and was last seen wearing a dark jacket, grey track pants with white stripes, green and blue shoes, a black Nike baseball cap with a black and white cloth covering his face and carrying a black satchel bag.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
Investigations are continuing.
