Detectives are investigating following the armed robbery of a convenience store on Woogaroo Road in Forest Lake earlier tonight.

Initial investigations indicate around 6.45pm two men entered the business armed with a hammer and an axe and threatened two male attendants, demanding money.

The two men then forced the staff members to the ground before removing a sum of money from the cash tills, along with a quantity of cigarettes. The men then fled the scene on foot.

One man is described as around 180cm tall, of slim build, wearing a balaclava, gloves, a grey hoodie, sneakers and blue track pants.

The second man is described as 175cm tall, of proportionate build and was also wearing gloves, a hoodie, track pants and sneakers.

The two male attendants were not physically injured during the robbery.

Investigations are continuing.
