Police from Leichhardt Local Area Command are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a Rozelle hotel overnight.
About 10.50pm (Monday 11 May 2015) police were called to a hotel on Darling Street following reports of an armed robbery.
Police attended the location where it was confirmed four men, wearing dark clothing and black balaclavas, entered the hotel through the front door armed with machetes and a firearm.
They threatened three staff members who were in the process of closing the hotel, making demands for money.
The four men left the premises with an amount of cash and were last seen heading down Red Lion Street.
A crime scene has been established at the hotel while further investigations are made by Leichhardt detectives.
