Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a ram raid burglary which occurred in Cranbourne this morning.

Officers have been told a stolen Holden Statesman was driven into a shopping centre car park on the South Gippsland Highway around 4am.

The Statesman was then driven at bollards and the front doors of a car accessory store to gain access.

An offender entered the store, removed a number of goods and handed them to an accomplice outside.

Investigators believe the goods were then put in a second vehicle.

The offenders set the Statesman on fire and left the scene in the second vehicle.

Emergency services were called and the local CFA extinguished the blaze before it caused to much damage.

Local detectives are investigating and are keen to speak to anyone who may have more information about the incident.
