Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a tavern at Greenbank last night.
Around 11.50pm a man entered the Teviot Road business and approached a staff member.
The man had his hand concealed inside his jacket and made demands for money. The staff member refused.
The man made further threats but the staff member continued to refuse to hand over money and told the man to leave the tavern.
The man fled the scene empty handed.
The man is described as being aged 18 to 20 years old and was wearing a hoodie, sunglasses and had his face covered.
No weapon was sighted or produced during the robbery attempt.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police investigations are continuing.
