Police are investigating the overnight armed robbery of a Springfield convenience store.

At around 10:15pm a man and a woman entered the  Springfield Lakes Boulevard store. The man produced a firearm and threatened a 23-year-old male attendant, demanding money.

The attendant complied with the man’s demands, handing over a quantity of cash and cigarettes. The man and woman then fled the scene on foot.

The male attendant was not physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as approximately 175cms tall, of medium build with tanned skin.

The woman is described as approximately 165cms tall, of medium build with tanned skin and multi-coloured hair.
