Police are investigating the armed robbery of a taxi driver in Coffs Harbour overnight.

About 12.20am today (Sunday 2 August 2015), a taxi was called to Kurrajong Street, Coffs Harbour. On arriving at the location the taxi was approached by a man described as Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged about 16 or 17 years old, 175cm tall, and wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper and long pants.

The man produced a bladed weapon and threatened the taxi driver, who handed over a small amount of cash.

The taxi then drove from the scene. The driver was not injured.
