A man has been charged following an armed robbery that occurred in Aspley yesterday.

Just after midday, police will allege a man entered a fast food outlet on Gympie Road.

It will further be alleged he made demands for cash while armed with a handgun, before stealing a vehicle and leaving the scene.
Officers located the man in Bald Hills with information provided by a member of the public.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with three counts of armed robbery, two counts of stealing and one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and assault.

He is due to appear in the Sandgate Magistrates Court today.
