Police have charged a man following investigations into a service station robbery at Fairfield last weekend.

It’s alleged on Saturday, 22 August 2015, a vehicle, with a number of men inside, pulled into a service station on Railway Parade.

One of the occupants got out of the car and commenced pumping fuel while another man walked into the store with a hood covering his face.

The man approached the male employee and demanded cash from the till.

Meanwhile, a second man from the vehicle also walked inside and demanded cash.

The employee complied and handed over an amount of cash before the two men ran outside and got into the maroon vehicle which then sped away.

Police were called and an investigation was commenced by detectives from Fairfield Local Area Command.

A 20-year-old man was charged yesterday at Fairfield Police Station with robbery armed with a dangerous weapon, possess/use unauthorised firearm.

He was refused bail and will appear in Fairfield Local Court today.

The car was later found abandoned a short distance from the service station.

Investigations into the identity of co-offenders continues.
